Step-by-Step Guide
Set Up the Trigger
Trigger: Due Date & Expiration
Configuration:
Resource Type: Choose License.
With: Select Expiration Date.
Days to Expiry: Enter 5.
Result: This configuration means the rule will activate when a license is set to expire in 5 days.
Action: Click Next to proceed.
Add an Action
Choose a Component: After clicking on Add a component, select Add an action from the dialog that appears.
Action Selection: You will be directed to the action selection stage.
Choose Action: Click on Create a Jira Issue.
Configure the Create a Jira Issue Action
Project: Select the relevant Jira project from the dropdown menu.
Issue Type: Choose the type of issue (e.g., Bug, Task) from the dropdown menu.
Summary: Provide a summary for the issue. You can use the Smart Value Overdue/Expiration Resource - Field to dynamically insert the resource field name.
Description: Enter a detailed description of the issue.
Assignee: Optionally, specify who the issue will be assigned to.
